Muy buena canción “Shadowboxer” de Fiona Apple, me encanto. Ese sonido bohemio me fascina cuando está bien hecho, me parece de una escena de película, el protagonista tomando algo en el bar mientras ella está en el fondo tocando esta canción (en el bar de mi mente hay piano jeje).

A Fiona Apple la conozco poco, una canción de su segundo disco “When the pawn...” y ya recientemente escuche su último disco “The Idler Wheel…” espero algún día poner la canción que más me gusta de este último. Buscando la conexión me di cuenta que se toma mucho tiempo en sacar discos y pareciera que el asunto va en aumento, sus 4 álbumes han salido en los años 1996, 1999, 2005 y 2012, así que creo que todavía puede faltar algo de tiempo para escuchar algo nuevo de ella. Aclaro que no me molesta que los artistas tarden en hacer un álbum, eso habla de que no están controlados por los deadlines en ocasiones tan agresivos de las disqueras, pero me llamo la atención que han sido tan solo 4 discos en 20 años.

Otra cosa curiosa de ella son los títulos de los álbumes que te mencione, lo cuales están abreviados ya que son tremendamente largos, por ejemplo su más reciente álbum (The Idler Wheel) en realidad tiene 23 palabras.

Mi conexión es relativa a eso, su segundo álbum “When the Pawn” tuvo por mucho tiempo el título más largo conocido, el título completo en realidad es “When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He'll Win the Whole Thing 'fore He Enters the Ring There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might so When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right”.

Actualmente el que tiene el título más largo es una banda llamada Chumbawamba, supongo que los conoces bien ya que su éxito “Tubthumping” fue muy sonado en los noventas y esa es precisamente la canción que voy a colocar. Fuera del éxito que tuvo creo que es una de esas canciones excelentemente hechas, este tipo de canciones las considero casi perfectamente grabadas técnicamente hablando, tienes que tener el volumen alto para disfrutarla, simplemente me encanta.
